From the South

Brethren and Families:

August has been a busy month at the lodge. It’s always a lot of fun to see all the brothers and their loved ones at our (your) events.

On August 16th, Crow Canyon 551 had the honor to celebrate one of our unsung kitchen hero’s; Bro. Les Blake, our 2018 Hiram Award recipient. The presentation was very well attended by many and his family. The open forum which followed wasn’t too bad a roast of our beloved baker.

I now take great pleasure to introduce our newest Entered Apprentice Mason: Tramaine Ellison. He was placed in the Northeast Corner of the lodge on August 23, 2018. It was truly an honor for me to have him as my first, “First Degree candidate” while sitting in the Master’s chair! Welcome Brother Ellison!

We will next confer the first degree on Mr. Nickolas J. Nelson. He has been scheduled for Sept 13th. If you are a regular to our Stated dinners, then you have likely seen him there the last several months. Please plan on attending his degree and then welcoming him as our newest Brother!

The year has been flying by, and it’s that time again when your officers are studying and preparing for advancement into the next chair and the new roles we will perform within the lodge. While we are doing this in our personal lives, we are also planning, and implementing new events for our fraternal family. What we do here is by and for you, my brothers. So I’m sure I speak for our WM and fellow officers when I say ‘We do hope to see you all again real soon’.
