Welcome to Spring Brethren and Families.
Your Officers and I attended DeMolay’s Virtual Stated Meeting in which they showed-up looking sharp and stately in their DeMolay Robes. Master Counselor Paulo Cabral performed great work in presiding over their Stated Meeting. He formally introduced us, whereupon we were honored to present them with CC551’s annual donation of $500, which was graciously accepted. Its always an interesting and enjoyable evening interacting with these fine young gentleman. They hold their meetings every 1st and 3rd Monday at 7:30 PM
The following evening we attended Unity Rainbow’s Virtual Stated meeting and were warmly introduced and welcomed by Worthy Advisor Cierah Cabral. We were treated by witnessing the installation of their Worthy Associate Advisor Micaela Cuevas. We then presented CC551’s annual donation of $500 during this official visit. All in all, an evening filled with serious, silly, and some very good ritual tossed in for good measure. Their meetings are held every 1st and 3rd Tuesday at 7:00 PM.
This year we will again miss the hosting of the Annual Public Schools Event. As I’m sure you aware, it’s the night we honor two teachers with a dinner in their honor, along with an award and an honorarium for their meritorious service to the children and young adults of Castro Valley. These individuals are chosen by their colleagues. Although there is no lack of highly deserving prospects, we are unable to properly honor them as they deserve via a virtual presentation and award. I would also speculate that they may not relish the idea of yet another “Zoom Event” being that the “Virtual Classroom” has been the safest way they were allowed to teach their pupils for the last 12 months.
On similar note, the Castro Valley School System is now teaching in-person to the students in the Elementary schools, and will resume with Junior High and High Schools in- person instruction by April 12 of this month.
Lastly, please remember to attend our ‘Virtual Stated Meetings’. These events usually gather 25-35 of us likeminded people. This is a great way to reconnect with Brethren no matter the distance, or any other limitations. The meeting invite is sent out roughly 1 week before the event via email. So if you are not getting the invite, please let me know and I will be sure you are added to the list!
In wrapping up, I would like to remind you that your Officers are always just a phone call away should you need anything or would like to share something with the Lodge. Our phone numbers and email addresses are easily found within this Trestleboard, and the Lodge website.
