Brethren and Families,
This spring is off to a great start. We’re bringing in several new Entered Apprentices and have already welcomed two new Brothers to the lodge, Brother Brian Rogers and Brother Jacob Mapp, who joined us on March 26. Both have shown real enthusiasm for the Craft and have now been placed in the capable hands of their coaches. Thank you to the Officers who performed a fantastic degree and the brethren who were in attendance.
More candidates are patiently waiting with-out the door, and we will answer their knocks in May. Once the date is set, please plan to attend, as this is the only time they will receive their First Degree, and we strive to make it as memorable for them as yours was for you.
We are hearing our initiates express a desire to learn more about our esoteric work, along with the general principles of Freemasonry, and it is encouraging to see the eager minds now entering our practices.
Your officers are exploring ways to expand Masonic education within our lodge for those who seek further light, while continuing to balance the camaraderie that has long been a part of our lodge culture. You can expect to see some changes as we work to enhance the learning experience.
This is your lodge, and your officers and I are listening and discussing the ideas being shared on how to make it better for all. Please continue to offer your suggestions and constructive criticism, as they help guide our growth, foster involvement, and strengthen our service to one another and to our local community.
As a reminder, we will hold our Annual Public Schools Night on April 30. It is an evening of dining, an exceptional youth choir, and recognition of two of the most influential teachers of 2026 as selected by their colleagues. One of our best kept secrets is that this is a complimentary dinner event for teachers and their families, as well as for Masons and their families. Please RSVP to our Secretary as soon as possible. Dinner will be served at 6:00 PM, and Castro Valley High School’s premier choir, Madrigals, will perform beginning at 7:00 PM, with awards to follow.
Please note that this falls on a fifth Thursday, and the scheduled potluck will be replaced by this event.
Also, throughout 2026, any Brother celebrating a birthday or Third Degree anniversary that month (as listed in the Trestleboard) will receive a complimentary meal. Just check in with our Dining Hall Tiler, Brother Treasurer Phil Busch, H.A., for a raffle ticket and a chance at an extra dinner as well.
Looking forward to seeing you soon.
