2026! Wow. Time keeps flying past.
To start this year, I will digress a bit from my usual introspective attempt to provoke thought, and take a more Junior-Warden-based approach to my article. Specifically, I want to share with everyone the tentative menu for each stated meeting dinner of the year. Subject of course to minor changes or large corrections as deemed appropriate, here is the plan:
January: (Winter belly warmer!) - Soup, Meatloaf and mashed potatoes with gravy, and peas. Pudding for dessert.
February: (More winter) - Salad, Breaded chicken, potatoes au gratin, and green beans. Dessert might be bread pudding.
March: (St. Patrick's day) - Soup, Corned Beef, Cabbage, carrots and potatoes.. Dessert: mint ice cream
April: (Easter) - Salad, Ham, scalloped potatoes, carrots. Dessert: pie
May: (Cinco de Mayo!) - Nachos, fajitas, refried beans, corn. Dessert: sweet bread
June: (Italian heritage month!) - Soup, chicken parmigana, garlic bread, pasta. Dessert: something Italian.
July: (Independence Day BBQ) - Salad, BBQ tri-tip, corn on the cob, potato salad. Dessert: Watermelon
August: (more BBQ!) - Salad, BBQ ribs, cornbread, baked beans, green beans. Dessert: chocolate cake
September: (Fall is here!) - Soup, baked chicken, acorn squash, asparagus. Dessert: apple pie a la mode
October: (Oktoberfest!) - Salad, bratwurst, knockwurst, sauerkraut, peas, German potato salad
November: (Thanksgiving) - Soup, Turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, green bean casserole, stuffing. Dessert: pumpkin pie
December: (Christmas) - Salad, Ham, baked potatoes, carrots. Dessert: ice cream
Please make sure you RSVP to our secretary as far in advance as possible, so that we can be sure to prepare the right amount of dinner for the folks who will be attending each month.
Also, don't forget about our Crab feed in February, and be sure to get your tickets early to secure yourself a seat!
