Welcome to April, brethren.
After one of the hottest March months ever, I am already prepared for it to be winter again... and yet here we are, merely a quarter of the way through the year.
As is typical for my monthly article, I shall endeavor to enjoinder you to:
Let it go.
Turn the other cheek.
Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
With heart and tongue, promote one another's welfare, and rejoice in one another's prosperity!
Being a better person, to me, is like cleaning your house. You work on it, and you get it all spic and span, and looking great, so you take a break. You enjoy some hard earned relaxation time. The next thing you know, there's dust on the blinds, dirty dishes in the sink, muddy footprints on the floor, and a pile of laundry waiting to be washed.
Just like your home, your moral and Masonic edifice needs constant care and attention to keep it shipshape! "Oh, I just gave five dollars to that panhandler on Monday" is a solid reason to not give away more money to help the unfortunate... on Monday. Maybe on Tuesday. But does it forgive you from cutting in line on Wednesday? What about deciding not to go back into the store on Thursday when you realize they forgot to charge you for the item under your cart?
Maybe running that red light on Friday? ...I mean, no one saw it anyway...
Its a constant battle to keep ourselves on the right path. To square our actions and keep them on the level.
When you act with nobility and humility, be proud of yourself! You deserve it!
...and you deserve it to yourself to keep doing it. All day. Every day.
If we don't, who will?
