Welcome to June, the sixth month of the year. We are now at the halfway point in 2026! The month of June is named after the Roman Goddess Juno, the wife of Jupiter. June is also the official start of Summer in the Northern Hemisphere. On June 29th, we will experience the "Strawberry Moon. It is the traditional indicator of the ripening season for wild strawberries. Although the Moon will not actually appear red or pink like strawberries, the name itself signifies the start of the summer season. On June 21st, we experience the summer solstice, the longest day of daylight in 2026. Other notable events in June include; Flag Day on June 14th, Juneteenth on June 19th (a Federal Holiday), and Father's Day on June 21st.
Until next time, have a pleasant June.
