Brethren: I hope all of you had a pleasant Christmas holiday. The new year has arrived and it’s now time to throw out that 2023 calendar and to replace it with a fresh new 2024 version. It is also the time to plan for all of the new activities and adventures we hope to accomplish in the new year.
Most sources suggest that January is named in honor of the Roman god Janus who represented the concept of beginnings and endings and is often depicted in images having two faces; one looking forward into the future and one looking backward into the past. Perhaps that image suggests that while we formulate our future plans for a new beginning, we should keep an eye on the past as well. I hope to see all of you in Lodge for a memorable and eventful 2024
