From the South

By Andrew Hawes — Jr. Warden

Happy Cinco de Mayo!

Time for all those flowers we were promised as a result of those April showers!

May will be a month of meeting and eating at our lodge! We will kick off the month with a Fiesta at our Stated dinner, and then roll into our Public School Night on the 12th, followed by our Hiram award dinner on the 26th. . . it will be a busy month in our kitchen!

Your Master and Wardens spent a very informative weekend at the retreat in April, and picked up some great new ideas and information! We have plans to bring some of it back to all of you and start to suggest and discuss some changes- not just to how we run things and help future officers run things for our lodge, but to our lodge events, such as shortening the length of our time spent in business meetings- something that we expect very few of you will have an issue with! :)

We'll keep it short this month, and I will wrap up with some May-appropriate well wishes for you all:

"May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face; the rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand."
