From the South

By Lyman Penning — Jr. Warden

Along with my activities in Crow Canyon Lodge, I am involved in this year's Ritual Competition in California. For 2023, the ritual will be the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd degree proficiencies. I am doing both questions and answers and I have now advanced from the District Level to the Division Level. If I can receive the top score in both the Division Level and the Final round, I will be receiving the top award at the Grand Lodge Annual Communication.

We have our Stated Meeting Dinner on Thursday, July 6, 2023. Roy will be serving BBQ steak (chicken upon request) with corn on the cob, garlic bread, beans and dinner salad. Dessert will be peach cobbler with vanilla ice cream. If you have not yet made a reservation, the lines are open to inform Perry and I that you are coming.

I believe that this will be our only dinner in July. The upcoming dinners to be aware of are the Hiram Award for Brian Ross on either Thursday, September 14 or Saturday, September 16, 2023, our Lodge Picnic on Saturday, August 26, 2023 (tentative), and our 100 year Centennial celebration on Saturday, October 21, 2023. Please mark these events on your calendars.

I hope that everyone has an enjoyable Fourth Of July. See you in Lodge.
